Dr Tween Low is an obstetrician and gynaecologist. She has appointments as a fertility specialist at Sydney IVF's Canberra branch and is staff specialist at The Canberra Hospital and a visiting medical officer at Calvary John James Memorial Hospital and National Capital Hospital.
Tween's major interests are infertility, high-risk obstetrics and endometriosis. On any one day, Tween may be performing IVF procedures, providing pre-pregnancy counselling and conducting prenatal diagnosis procedures.
Tween maintains an active interest in education. She lectures first and fourth-year medical students at the Australian National University and assists in teaching midwives, general practitioners and registrars. She has presented papers at several national conferences and is in the process of finalising three research projects. Tween is now working on a Master of Reproductive Medicine at The University of NSW.
After graduating from The University of Melbourne in 1994, Tween completed her specialist training in Canberra and then spent a year at Liverpool Hospital, Sydney, consolidating her skills in advanced laparoscopic surgery.
She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists; and Member of the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy Society, Perinatal Society of Australia and New Zealand, Australasian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine, and ACT Cervical Screening Program Advisory Committee.
Outside of her clinical commitments, Tween is kept busy raising her two young boys - from running a free chauffeur service and maintaining the title bestowed to her by her children of "best cook in the world", to supporting her partner's fledging rock band and, when time permits, bushwalking.
