Ensuring our quality of care

How do you evaluate an IVF clinic? Success rates are naturally important, but they don't necessarily reveal anything about the quality of patient care, or a patient's satisfaction with their overall treatment.

At Sydney IVF, your success, health, and wellbeing are so fundamental to us that ISO certification was a natural step.

What is ISO accreditation?

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies from some 140 countries, with one body representing each country.

This non-governmental organisation was established in 1947 for the purpose of enhancing quality, increasing reliability, and improving health and safety of products and services worldwide.

Our ISO 9001:2000 accreditation emphasises the importance of having the right protocols in place. Protocols in an IVF clinic determine, for example, how embryos are handled, what drugs are given to patients and in what dosage, how patients' physical and emotional needs are looked after or how particular concerns or issues you have or might develop are addressed.

An independent ISO auditor visits all Sydney IVF clinics every 6-12 months to ensure that all established protocols are being followed, and to evaluate and improve the quality of care.

What does ISO accreditation mean for you?

Being ISO certified commits us to ongoing improvement of our service as quality is measured continuously.

This ranges from continuous scrutiny of procedures in the laboratory to developing our own embryo culture media (now sold in the U.S.) and providing high quality counselling for patients. It also means an ongoing commitment to staff training and development.

So you can receive the best treatment deliverable, if there's anything more that we can do to ensure your needs are met when you are with us, please let us know!
