Dr Robert Lyneham graduated with honours in medicine from The University of Sydney in 1970 and gained a professorial residency at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Choosing a career in obstetrics and gynaecology, he won the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists medal in his membership examination and then subspecialised in reproductive medicine where he has been actively involved for more than 30 years.
Robert has been an active Sydney IVF clinician since day one and in 1991 he was awarded College certification as a subspecialist in reproductive endocrinology and infertility (CREI).
In 1994 he began a part-time law degree at The University of NSW, graduating in 1998. Robert foresaw the expanding interface between medicine and law and is now actively involved in medicolegal work, whilst maintaining a busy clinical practice. Robert was a foundation shareholder in Sydney IVF and he was invited to join the Board of Directors in 2001.
Robert's clinical practice in gynaecology is focused on the management of infertility and reproductive disorders. He also enjoys an active obstetric practice, with babies being delivered at Royal Prince Alfred Women and Children's Hospital and The Prince of Wales Private Hospital.
