Dr Joyce graduated top student in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the University of Melbourne. Her postgraduate training was undertaken at Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Women's Hospital, Melbourne, and St Mary's Hospital for Women and Children, University of Manchester, UK.

She is currently in Gynaecological practice at Sydney IVF in Sydney, Liverpool and the Southern Highlands. She has surgical appointments at St Luke's Hospital Complex, Potts Point, and Southern Highlands Private Hospital, Bowral. She provides comprehensive services in Assisted Reproductive Technology.

She is the Executive Secretary of National Association of Specialist Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and the Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Nominee and spokesperson on Federal Council of  the Australian Medical Association.

Her particular interests are Infertility, Endoscopic Surgery and Ultrasound. As a member of the Sydney Gynaecological Endoscopy Group, she works in conjunction with her husband, Dr Geoffrey Reid, also a Sydney IVF doctor, with a wide reputation in the field of endometriosis and advanced laparoscopic surgery.
